WMIRS 2.0 for Mission Management

WMIRS 2.0 for Mission Management

Postby nluneau » 18 Dec 2014 15:49

OMP 10 - CAPSTAR – Mission Management that sanctioned the use of CAPSTAR is being rescinded. CAPSTAR will not interface with WMIRS 2.0 and users have to create each sortie in both WMIRS 2.0 and CAPSTAR to track them.

CAWG Operations is recommending that we now use WMIRS 2.0 for mission management with the caveat that there are some issues as detailed:

1. Status board:
a. ALso use a manual status board as a backup.
b. If you want to test the status board in WMIRS 2.0, the following works:
i. To have a sortie show as Started you have to use the Comm Log and create and entry that use the Sortie and CAP number and that is an ATD
ii. To have a sortie show as Completed you have to use the Comm Log and create and entry that use the Sortie and CAP number and that is an ATA
2. Sign-in:
a. Sign-in works but to make it easy for yourself make sure that all sorties that have crew members sign in, sign them in for the desired operational period
b. Use an ICS-211 for sign-in's until the ICS-211 form is available for printing
c. Either sign out those that are not at the next operational period or do a mass sign-out at the end of each operational period providing you have already completed a manual ICS-211.
3. Comm Log: You do not need to print out a copy of the Comm Log as it is part of WMIRS
4. Unit Log: The Comm Log is usable and you do not need to print out a copy as it is part of WMIRS

Let us know at wmirs@cawgcap.org if you have any tips or tricks and we will incorporate into the Wiki.
